Matthias Heymann

Matthias Heymann ist Associate Professor für Wissenschafts- und Technikgeschichte am Centre for Science Studies der Universität Aarhus. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt sind die Geschichte von Umweltwissenschaften und Umwelttechnik. Publiziert hat er zur Geschichte von Energietechnologien, Konstruktionswissenschaft und Atmosphären- und Klimawissenschaft. Er koordiniert die Tensions of Europe Research Group Technologly, Environment and Resources und das Forschungsnetzwerk "Challenging Europe: Technology, Environment and the Quest for Resource Security (EurReS)". Er war Leiter des Dänisch-US Amerikanischen Forschungsprojekts “Exploring Greenland: Science and Technology in Cold War Settings” (2010-2013) und des internationalen Forschungsprojekts “Shaping Cultures of Prediction: Knowledge, Authority and the Construction of Climate Change” (2013-2017). Er ist Vorsitzender der Gesellschaft für Technikgeschichte und Associate Editor von Centaurus sowie Domain Editor von WIREs Climate Change mit Zuständigkeit für die Domain Climate, History, Society, Culture.

Matthias Heymann is Associate Professor for the History of Science and Technology at the Centre for Science Studies, Aarhus University. He focuses on the history of environmental science and technology and published on the history of energy technologies, engineering design and atmospheric and climate sciences. He coordinates the Tensions of Europe Research Group Technologly, Environment and Resources and the research network "Challenging Europe: Technology, Environment and the Quest for Resource Security (EurReS)". He lead the Danish-US research project “Exploring Greenland: Science and Technology in Cold War Settings” (2010-2013) and the international research project “Shaping Cultures of Prediction: Knowledge, Authority and the Construction of Climate Change” (2013-2017). He is chairman of the Gesellschaft für Technikgeschichte and Associate Editor of Centaurus and Domain Editor of WIREs Climate Change with responsibility for the domain Climate, History, Society, Culture.
